Earthchild: Worldwide Style

1992 was a great year. The Toronto Blue Jay’s won the World Series, Elle Macpherson was the “it girl” and Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” hit #1 on the Billboard charts.

Another awesome happening in 1992 was the start of a small clothing design company called, “Earthchild“. Earthchild is South Africa’s first retailer to offer organic clothing of the finest quality and started with humble beginnings out of an apartment. Now, the line has grown to feature some of the world’s best clothing options for children.

Earthchild features clothes that can be easily layered to create one solid look. From newborns on up, the company boasts crisp design styles that aren’t over the top – and can be a perfect compliment to any kid’s wardrobe.

On a more profound level, Earthchild is known for their propensity to give back. Here’s more on their projects:

The Earthchild Project

One of our core values is social consciousness, based on the ethical principles of respecting the earth and the communities around us. We put this into practice by using 100% organic cotton and natural fibres wherever possible in the creation of our eco-friendly fashion garments.

In addition to our ethical manufacturing processes, we work closely with a registered non-profit organisation, The Earthchild Project, based in the Western Cape. This innovative NPO is focussed on educating and assisting people in townships. Its work focusses on the holistic development of children, teachers, schools and communities.

The Earthchild Project has received wide recognition for its efforts in education and social upliftment, using yoga and environmental awareness programmes to teach and engage with communities.
